The BCFFPA is a provincial organization for Foster Parents, run by Foster Parents. (Objectives)
It is a registered non-profit society which aims to bring together foster parents, social workers and other interested people working to improve the standard of care for children in our province. It provides opportunities for education, training and professional development as well as support and assistance for the Foster Parents of BC. (Constitution & Bylaws).
The BCFFPA is structured to facilitate contact with all Foster Parents in the province. There are Local Associations, Regional Councils and a Board of Directors - all run by volunteers elected by Foster Parents.
An Annual General Meeting is held each year to provide members, from all areas of the province, the opportunity to vote and actively participate in the planning of the Federation activities for the next year. (see Policy Manual January 2002)
