Nominations Committee appointment

Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer unavailable – No report
5.
President’s Report 
a.
Leslie du Toit has not met with Federation however we continue to try to
meet with her.  Michele Haddon will strategize.  The next year will be
challenging.
b.
Heather and Melanie will be contacting the REDS to set up meetings
c.
The mileage issue continues to be worked on.
6.
Vice President’s Report
a.
Heather continues to be involved with the IFCO planning committee for
2011.
b.
The communication flow will be addressed in the Partnership meeting.
7.
MCFD Liaison Report
a.
There are many changes coming
b.
Her portfolio will remain the same
c.
Will send graphics and literature regarding the roles of the leadership team
d.
There is a process in place for consultation with other groups
e.
Michele suggested calling the Grandparents group – Carol Mytusic of
Foster Parent Support Services

Regional Reports
a.
Vancouver Coastal 
i.
Raise the status of fostering
ii.
Stop advertising for recruitment and treat current homes better. 
Retention is more important
iii.
Christmas celebrations went well
iv.
Foster Parents continue to be concerned with the length of time
children are staying in care
b.
Interior
i.
Kamloops is working on a proposal for 3rd year social work
students to do their practicum in a foster home.
ii.
Focus groups are being set up to streamline the systems
iii.
Still a shortage of homes for teens.  There is still a lack of support
for teen homes
iv.
The Cranbrook local is back up and running
v.
Kelowna continues to provide workshops 
vi.
The Regional Partnership meeting went well.  Foster Parents and
MCFD are looking at doing several joint ventures
vii.
It was reiterated that original logs should be kept with a copy to
MCFD, as MCFD still has no method of storage.
viii.
Williams Lake and 100 Mile house continue to close beds
c.
North
i.
This area is quiet
ii.
The Christmas party was well attended
iii.
Partnership meetings are taking place in Dawson
iv.
There are still concerns regarding lack of placement
d.
